Girlguiding Stewartry Exhibition

There is an exhibition celebrating 100 years of Girlguiding in the Stewartry on display at the Stewartry Museum, Kirkcudbright until 11th June. Entrance to the museum is free.

Thanks to Dumfries & District Gliding Club some of our leaders to the skies over the Stewartry in a two-seater K13 glider.

We learned about the basic principles of gliding, and then each took a turn at flight. Fortunately, we had an instructor up in the sky with us (I doubt we would have got off the ground otherwise) and all of us had a chance to pilot our flight once in the air.

We experienced breathtaking views, very warm hospitality, and a great, fun day out.
