Stewartry to Peru
In October 2009, 9 adult members, Senior Section and friends experienced the adventure of a lifetime to celebrate the centenary of Girlguiding UK.
We joined a Vine Trust work party helping street children in Kusi, high up in the Andes. During the day we stripped bamboo which was used to waterproof a new building, and in the evenings we spent time playing games and doing activities with the children. In the second week the group embarked on the Inca Trail to the ruined city of Machu Picchu. This trip was a huge challenge for all those taking part and a wonderful way to mark the centenary.
